Gotas D'Água

In Henrique Cazes's words, Gotas
d'Água
was the release that projected Simone's deep
and warm voice nationally, and it calls attention to the number
of top
names involved in this production. From Mílton Nascimento
and Hermínio Bello de Carvalho's executive production
to Luiz Eça's, Magro's and Wagner Tiso's arrangements,
this is a heavy release.
The repertoire was carefully chosen and arranged. From the haunting
vocals in the title track, with the addition of Milton Nascimento's vocals,
to the last number in the album, Gotas d'Água is truly
a gem. In the soft, romantic ballads such as "Disfarce" and "Matriz ou
Filial," Simone captivates the listeners. Whether more relaxed, as
in "Samba pro João Gilberto," or more vibrant as in "Idolatrada," Simone
shows good control and performance.
